Dutch Almond Curls

Almonds are an excellent source of Vitamin E. That fact, along with the single egg used for this entire recipe, allows you to create a wonderful, healthy dessert. A special sweet treat that has healthful benefits. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounce almonds, shaved
  • 1 3/4 ounce castor sugar, superfine
  • 1 egg
  • Wooden sticks, such as lollipop or popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven on 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Beat egg and mix with sugar and almonds.
     
  3. Put little heaps of batter (teaspoon-sized) on a greased tray. They need to be about 8 centimeters  apart.
     
  4. Flatten the heaps with a fork and bake in oven for 10 - 15 minutes.
     
  5. Remove from oven and leave on tray for 3 minutes.
     
  6. Remove cookies from tray. Immediately after removing a cookie from the tray, wrap it around a wooden stick.
     
  7. Leave cookies to cool around stick. Store in airtight container.
