Master Lee's Low Fat Bacon & Egg Fried Rice

Master Lee loves traditional Chinese food recipes, but he also loves to eat healthily. Lee considers his bacon & egg fried rice one of his best Chinese food recipes and with his special little touches, he also manages to make it low fat. Enjoy the recipe of a master.

Notes

  • Mater Lee suggests long-grain rather than short-grain rice.

Cooking Time5 min

Ingredients

  • 3 cups steamed rice
  • 1/4 pound lean turkey bacon, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced or slivered
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking rice wine
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients before cooking.  Prepare steamed rice.

  2. Mix the reduced sodium soy sauce and rice wine in a small dish.

  3. Fry the turkey bacon in a wok on full heat until nearly crisp. Remove any remaining fat.

  4. Add the onions and fry with turkey bacon until soft and golden.

  5. Push the turkey bacon/onions to the side and scramble the egg at the bottom of the wok.

  6. Add the rice and mix everything together. Sprinkle with reduced sodium soy sauce, wine, and pepper and stir to mix.
