Meatloaf Perfection

Cooking Time1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 97% lean ground beef, or lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup organic low sugar ketchup
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Thoroughly combine ground meat, oatmeal, 1/2 cup ketchup, egg whites, onion, salt and pepper, and place into a loaf pan. Poke two or three holes in the top of the loaf, and pour the remaining 1/3 cup ketchup over the top.
     
  3. Place in the oven for about 1 hour, until the loaf is thoroughly cooked on the inside.

Nice idea I love meatloaf

This recipe sounds very healthy, easy to prepare, and delicious. I'd add a bit of finely diced green pepper to mine, just because we like it. I'll definately make this very soon. By the way, 1 lb. of meat serves 8 people?....Not in our house! (LOL)
