For a healthier take on those classic sliders burgers, try out this Turkey Burger Sliders recipe. Using ground turkey instead of ground beef slashes calories and fat, letting you enjoy burgers during game day, or as party appetizers. This may be one of the best healthy ground turkey recipes you will try. Get excited everyone, burgers just got introduced back into your healthy eating plan.

Cooking MethodGrilling

  • 1 1/4 pound Jennie-O extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 2 green onions, white and green parts
  • 1 tablespoon Chipotle Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or as desired per how spicy you like your food
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • Sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (optional)
  • Mini pretzel buns (this is a crucial part of the recipe, the bun really makes the burger)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Caramelized onions (optional)

  1. Pre-heat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Combine ground turkey and remaining patty ingredients in a large bowl and gently mix. Form into small patties. Grill for 4 to 5 minutes per side. The last minute or so add your basil leaves to the top and cover with grated cheese cook until cheese is melted.
  3. If you want to get really fancy with it you can add some caramelized onions by heating about some olive oil over medium-high heat in a skillet and adding delicately sliced yellow onion. Season with salt and pepper and saute until browned, about 15 to 20 minutes. You can do this while you are preparing the patties. Be sure to stir frequently so they don’t burn.

I absolutely LOVE pretzel rolls. This looks like an ingenious way to use them...I think I'm going to have to make this recipe. I don't know if it's simply because it's lunchtime now or not, but it is definitely making my mouth water right now.
