The Popcorn Diet

By: The Editors of FaveHealthyRecipes.com

What it is: The basis of the popcorn diet is that the addition of high fiber, low calorie popcorn to your daily meal plan can help you lose weight.

How it works: The diet’s emphasis on eating only butter- and salt-free popcorn as snacks, as well as small, well balanced meals will help provide dieters with a low calorie diet that may aid in weight loss.

What you do: The diet recommends consuming small meals throughout the day that include high protein and low-fat foods, as well as fruits and vegetables. Air popped popcorn that is free of salt and butter replaces all other snack food and dieters are allowed to consume as much as they desire. Drinking water is also recommended in place of drinking juice or soda.

Benefits: Popcorn is high in dietary fiber and low in calories and fat.

The Down Side:
It is easy to get tired of the bland popcorn and be tempted to add salt and butter or cheat on the diet with high fat or high calorie snacks.
