The Hamptons Diet

What it is: Created by former Atkins dieter Dr. Fred Pescatore, The Hamptons Diet is a low-carb diet that combines features of the popular Mediterranean and Atkins diets.
How it works: The diet’s focus on “good” fats and quality carbohydrates is designed to help you lose weight.

What you do: The Hamptons diet emphasizes monounsaturated fats as a key component of your dietary guidelines. Pescatore recommends using Macadamia nut oil in place of olive oil in cooking. There is also a focus on eating non-processed whole grains and other whole foods like chicken, fish and vegetables.

Benefits: The Hamptons diet is a healthier approach to low-carb eating because it incorporates a well-rounded meal plan and emphasizes healthy foods.

The Down Side: There is no scientific evidence to back up the weight loss effects of this diet and no exercise plan is recommended. Another potentially negative aspect is that macadamia nut oil is incredibly expensive, therefore making it difficult for some to incorporate into their daily routine.
