The Body Clock Diet

By: The Editors of FaveHealthyRecipes.com

What it is: Written by dietician Lyndel Costain, The Body Clock Diet is all about eating at the right times and paying attention to your body’s natural rhythms in order to lose weight.

How it works: The diet aims to keep you in sync with your body’s natural rhythms. Costain explains that these natural rhythms play a part in your appetite, sleep patterns, metabolism and energy levels. The diet is predicated on the idea that if you eat at the proper times, you will remain fuller longer, stay healthier and lose weight.

What you do: Dieters eat three meals per day and two snacks over a 14-day period. There is also a week-long vegetarian alternative. The eating plan includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy.

Benefits: The book includes a questionnaire that helps you determine how your body clock works, and helps optimize your diet plan. The plan also follows sound arguments, includes healthy foods and may help dieters lose up to 2 lb. per week.

The Down Side: It may be difficult for some dieters to adjust to eating meals at specific times each day.
