I was watching a television show about food recently, and was surprised to find out that many of the leading peanut butter brands actually separate the natural peanut oil out during the manufacturing process, and sell it for different purposes. The oil is then replaced with something like vegetable shortening to give it it's smooth texture. Yuck. I'd much rather do it this way and retain the natural peanut flavor. Plus there are great add - in suggestions for making your own specialty flavored varieties!

I love eating peanut butter, but my favorite ones have little to no added sugar. This recipe sounds like the perfect way to make my own!
