This No Bake Chocolate Pie recipe from Dorothy Delaney is so great because it is suitable to a raw vegan diet and a gluten free diet. Plus, this easy chocolate pie recipe has walnuts in it. This is one of the best no bake dessert recipes for entertaining.

Cooking MethodNo Bake

Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 1 cup almonds, ground
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • FILLING:
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup yacon
  • 1/3 cup raw sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons psyllium seed powder
  • 1/8 cup almond milk, water or coconut water
  • 1 dash vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup walnuts, broken

Instructions

  1. Grind almonds in a food processor until they make a coarse meal. Add in honey, cacao powder, salt and coconut oil if desired. Press into a pie plate.
     
  2. In a blender, blend together cacao powder, yacon, sugar, coconut oil, psyllium seed powder, almond milk, vanilla and salt. Pour into pie crust.
     
  3. Set walnuts into the pie and chill.
