Makes2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 small lemons, juiced
  • 3 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cup fresh broccoli, chopped

Instructions

  1. Whisk the soy sauce, lemon juice, water, sugar, garlic, sesame seeds, salt and pepper in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer and stir occasionally.

  2. Heat a medium saute pan over medium heat. Add in the broccoli. Pour about a tablespoon of water into the pan and cover. This creates a steaming effect on the broccoli. Cook until broccoli is slightly crunchy and bright green, 3 to 5 minutes.

  3. Remove broccoli from pan and put in a serving bowl. Pour the warm garlic sauce over the broccoli and serve immediately.
