Cinnamon Sugar Bagel Chips

By: Ellen Postolowski

If you have leftover bagels, here is your answer! I opt for using whole wheat bagels so I do not have to worry about the refined flours used in white or plain bagels. Whole wheat flour contains the bran and germ which means you are getting antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and much needed minerals. The refining process in which white flour is made strips the bran and germ leaving you with nothing but empty carbohydrates.

Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced bagels
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pan spray (butter flavor is preferred for baking)

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle evenly over tops of bagel pieces and bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until pieces start to brown.

  2. Remove from oven, turn carefully, spray again lightly and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture.

  3. Bake again watching so that chips brown but do not burn. You want them to be crispy.
