Christmas Cucidati

By: Kelly from The Spunky Coconut
Christmas Cucidati

Christmas Cucidati, also known as Sicilian fig cookies, are traditional Italian cookies served during the holidays. It is a buttery, crisp cookie filled with figs, dates, raisins, cinnamon, orange marmalade walnuts, and a dash of rum. The dough is rolled into a log and then cut into pieces to be baked. Many versions call for frosting or sprinkles on top, as well. This homemade cookie recipe has been adapted for those following a gluten free diet. Using almond flour instead of white flour actually makes these cookies better because it enhances the nutty flavor. These fruity, chewy, and delicious treats are sure to be a hit with your family.
