Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup superfine granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 4 squares (1 oz/28 g each) bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 2/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted

Instructions

  1. Perheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

  2. In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. Combine flour and cornstarch. Stir into butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in chocolate and pecans. Press evenly into a 13 x 9 inch cake pan.

  3. Bake until lightly browned around edges, 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool completely in pan on rack. Cut into bars or squares.

  4. Enjoy!
