Little Bo Jim's Special Turkey Burgers
This easy recipe for turkey burgers is full of so much flavor that you'll mark it as your favorite recipe of all time. Little Bo Jim has been working on this recipe for years and now he thinks he finally has it. Little Bo Jim's special turkey burgers are out of this world!

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons water (25 mL)
- 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs (50 mL)
- 1 small onion, grated
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (10 mL)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2 mL)
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire (2 mL)
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper (1 mL)
- 1 pound lean ground turkey (500 g)
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- In bowl, beat egg and water with fork; mix in bread crumbs, onion, mustard, salt, Worcestershire and pepper.
- Mix in turkey. Shape into four 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties. (Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 6 hours. Or layer between waxed paper in airtight container and freeze for up to 1 month; thaw in refrigerator.)
- Place patties on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and cook, turning patties once, for about 10 minutes or until no longer pink inside.
- Place in hamburger buns. Makes 4 servings.
Variations:
- Oregano Lemon Pork Burgers: Omit mustard, Worcestershire sauce and beef. Add 1 tablespoon (15 mL) chopped fresh oregano, 2 teaspoon (10 mL) grated lemon rind and 1 pound (500 g) lean ground pork.
- Cajun Chicken Burgers: Omit mustard, Worcestershire sauce and beef. Add 1/4 cup (50 mL) chopped fresh parsley, 2 teaspoon (10 mL) Cajun seasoning and 1 pound (500 g) ground chicken.
