The McDonalds Diet

What it is: Started by Merab Morgan, The McDonald’s Diet is probably a little hard to believe when you only hear the name. Morgan decided to go on a diet and it nothing but fast food by restricting herself to just 1,400 calories a day using portion control. Over a period of three-months, Morgan lost 30 lbs eating McDonald’s three times every day.

How it works: By restricting the amount of calories you in-take and keeping up with everyday exercise, it is possible to make the McDonald’s diet work for weight loss. Consume less than 2,000 calories a day and watch the pounds disappear.

What you do: Check McDonald’s website for information on the calorie count for each of their menu items them select a breakfast, lunch, and dinner option that keeps your total calorie intake under 2,000. For example, the sausage burrito for breakfast (300 calories), a cheeseburger for lunch (300 calories), and a Southwest Salad with Grilled Chicken for dinner (320 calories). Pair each meal with a diet beverage and you’re all set!

Benefits: If you love McDonald’s, this diet is for you. It’s easy to follow and McDonald’s food is cheap!

Downside: Besides the low-cal intake, this diet plan isn’t exactly high in other nutrients and there isn’t a plethora of menu options so unless you really love McDonald’s, this may not be the diet for you. Followers of the McDonald’s Diet need to stick to an exercise plan as well. And most importantly, this diet was not designed by a doctor or dietician and you should consult a professional before starting the McDonald’s Diet.
