Simple Beef, Spinach and Mushroom Strudel
Simple Beef Spinach and Mushroom Strudel

"An easy appetizer made with puff pastry that everyone will love. This savoury strudel is filled with ground beef, mushrooms, spinach and feta cheese and served with tzatziki dip. Easy to make with pre-made puff pastry. Simply cook up the ground beef and mushrooms with some seasoning in a skillet, then stir in the spinach and feta cheese. Fold the savoury filling up in the puff pastry and then bake until golden brown. Served with tzatziki dip, this Greek flavoured savoury strudel is sure to please!"

You could make this using either puff pastry or frozen and thawed sheets of phyllo dough. Either one would work well. To go with the greek theme, and also cut out a little fat, it might be fun to try this recipe using lean ground lamb! I might even serve this as a main course with a greek salad on the side!

That sounds like a great idea, kmcartoonity. And now I'm hungry!

I love cooking and baking with puff pastry. This morning I used it to make an apple strudel. It is really convenient, I usually keep a box on hand in the freezer. You have to make sure it does not dry out and become too brittle when working with it.
