No Cook Sloppy Joes

Here's a healthy sloppy joe recipe made extra sloppy for you! This No Cook Sloppy Joes recipe from Dorothy Delaney is definitely one of the yummiest raw food diet recipes. Bring classic comfort food back into your diet with this recipe. The raw homemade ketchup recipe really helps to transform this dish.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 red bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 1/2 cups mushrooms
  • KETCHUP:
  • 8 sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Bragg's amino acids, Nama Shoyu or Crystal Aminos
  • 1/4 cup raisins, soaked (or 1/4-inch piece of tamarind)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
  1. Put the walnuts, red bell peppers, 1 teaspoon onion powder, carrot, celery, garlic and mushrooms into a food processor. Chop ingredients in food processor until desired consistency is reached.
     
  2. To make the ketchup, blend together the sun-dried tomatoes, tomatoes, honey, Bragg's amino acids, raisins, vinegar, onion powder, olive oil, rosemary, salt, chili powder, oregano and cayenne pepper.
     
  3. Stir the ketchup into the sloppy joe mixture. Serve on lettuce leaves or sprouted buns.
