Seasonal Apple Walnut Stuffing

Seasonal Apple Walnut Stuffing is an easy Thanksgiving recipe. If you are looking for a homemade stuffing recipe with fresh ingredients, this one is a great option.

Cooking Time: 25 min

Ingredients
  • 8 cups (2 quarts) homemade-style bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
     
  2. Place bread cubes in large bowl.
     
  3. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt margarine.
     
  4. Add celery, onion and parsley; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened (3 to 5 minutes). Add to bread.
     
  5. Combine eggs, low sodium broth and black pepper; add to bread and mix thoroughly.
     
  6. Stir in apples and walnuts.
     
  7. Bake in 2-quart dish greased with cooking spray for 25 minutes or until desired crispness. Serve.
Notes

Try using cornbread and your favorite herbs for a variation on the recipe.
