Easy and Traditional Chinese Five Spice Powder

Some say that this traditional Chinese spice uses all of the flavors: bitter, sweet, sour, pungent and salty. It is considered to have healing properties because of the star anise, so try it in all your favorite Chinese dishes!

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon ground Szechwan pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cassia or cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons ground fennel seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground star anise
Instructions
  1. Grind together ingredients and bottle.
