Healthy 3 Bean Salad

Make a delicious healthy 3 bean salad. Add some tasty vegetables and homemade dressing and you'll have one fine salad. This salad will keep you on track with your healthy intake.

  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 1 can yellow wax beans, drained
  • 1 can red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  1. Mix the chopped vegetables and let them stand overnight in 3/4 cup sugar in the refrigerator.
  2. Dressing: 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon coarse blk pepper, 1/3 cups vegetable oil, 2/3 cup vinegar.
  3. Add green beans, wax beans and red kidney beans to the vegetable mixture.
  4. This can be varied by the type of vinegar that you use, herbed or wine vinegars are nice.
  5. You can also substitute garlic salt for plain salt or just add chopped garlic.

? - are the canned beans drained - recipe says to put the chopped vegs green pepper celery onion - in sugar mixture - when do the canned ones go into the recipe ? drained or with liquid ?
