The Rosemary Conley’s Hip and Thigh Diet, developed by popular fitness celebrity Rosemary Conley, is a combination low-calorie, low-fat diet and exercise plan to tone the hips and thighs during weight loss.


What it is: Especially popular in the UK, the Rosemary Conley’s Hip and Thigh Diet combines a low-fat, low-calorie diet with an exercise plan that made Rosemary Conley a fitness celebrity.
 

How it works: The diet drastically limits the amount of fat being consumed, while providing unlimited vegetables. Dieters eat three meals a day and can eat snacks if they change meals slightly to reflect this extra food. Dieters do not have to count calories.
 

What you do: Practitioners generally eat meals of lean protein, legumes, unrestricted vegetables and limited amount of carbohydrates. Practitioners completely avoid nuts, oils and lards, butters and all dairy products.
 

Benefits: If hips and thighs are your problems areas, this diet is meant to specifically target these areas in addition to overall weight loss. Dieters are allowed to unlimited quantities of vegetables and other specified foods to avoid feeling hungry.
 

Downside: Although the diet claims to target your hips and thighs, a dieter cannot really control which parts of the body lose fat through diet alone. Hip and thigh toning in this diet is likely the result of the extensive exercise program.
