Cinnamon Apple Grilled Pork Chops

Looking for easy pork chop recipes? These cinnamon-apple grilled pork chops are easy to do and incredibly delicious! They have that perfect autumn blend of apple and cinnamon that you'll love!

Serves: 4

Ingredients
  • 4 center-cut lean pork chops
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 Granny Smith apples, cut and soaked in lemon water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated or chopped
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar (or sugar substitute)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup toasted almonds
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
     
  2. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
     
  3. Sear on both sides in a hot pan over medium-high heat until golden brown.
     
  4. Remove and place on a baking sheet. Place in a 375 degree F oven for 8 minutes.
     
  5. Remove from oven.
     
  6. Spoon cinnamon-apple relish on a serving platter and arrange chops on top.

Cinnamon-Apple Relish:

  1. Coat a large skillet with light vegetable oil spray and place over medium heat; add bell pepper and onion and saute until softened.
     
  2. Add apples, ginger, brown sugar, pepper flakes, curry powder, turmeric, cinnamon stick, cloves and bay leaves.  Continue to saute until they release their aroma.
     
  3. Add apple juice and vinegar and bring to a boil. Then, add almonds.
     
  4. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into mixture. 
     
  5. Simmer and let reduce for 20 minutes. Use with step 6 from above.
