Apple Cider Vinegar Diet

What it is: A popular detox diet, the Apple Cider Vinegar Diet is designed to help you lose weight and cleanse your body of toxins

How it works: While it is unclear if the diet is beneficial for weight loss, it is believed that the acidic vinegar, when combined with other foods, can help you feel fuller and more satisfied. It is also suggested that, when combined with fruit pectin, the acidity in the vinegar creates a weight loss effect.

What you do: The diet requires that you take one, two or three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar 15 minutes before each meal. It is recommended that you do not consume more than three teaspoons at a time, which may be too acidic for your stomach to handle. The diet plan suggests starting off with one teaspoon at a time to allow your body to get used to the extra acid.

Benefits: It is recommended that you consume moderate portions and skip snacks, a plan that may help you to lose weight without the vinegar. Some diet subscribers believe that the vinegar will help lower your cholesterol. Additionally, there are apple cider vinegar supplements available if you dislike the taste.

The Down Side: There is little scientific evidence to back up the claim that apple cider vinegar does indeed help you to lose weight. The repeated intake of acid in the Apple Cider Vinegar diet may cause stomach and throat irritation and occasionally interacts with other medications.

This is actually effective, but I had to stop taking it because it was too acidic for me.
