If you're the type of person that likes more fruit than topping in your healthy dessert recipes, then this Real Apple Crumble recipe from Adele of Vegie Head (www.vegiehead.com) is just for you. Each crumble is contained in one apple, making this the perfect healthy baking idea for single servings.

Serves: 1

Cooking Time: 25 min

Ingredients
  • 1 pink lady apple
  • 1/4 cup whole grain oats, not instant
  • 1 teaspoon tahini
  • 1 tablespoon golden raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon mulled spice mix
  • Enough water to pour into a pan
  • Soy yogurt, to serve
  • Pomegranate molasses, to serve
Instructions
  1. Top the apple and core it- keep the 'lid'! Use a paring knife to cut away some of the flesh.

  2. Mix the rolled oats, tahini and raisins. Fill the apple and pack the filling in tightly.

  3. Using a deep pan, fill with a bit of water and the spices. Use only enough water so it just touches the bottom of the apple.

  4. Put the lid on the pan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

  5. Using tongs, put it in an oven proof dish and bake at 180 degrees C (350 degrees F) until it browns on top, about 10 to 15 minutes.

  6. Serve with yogurt and pomegranate molasses.
