Make yourself a hearty comfort food classic with this Slow Cooker French Dip Beef recipe from Jackie @ Jackie's Kitchen. Chock full of flavor, this is definitely one of the best slow cooker beef recipes for you to try. Try this dish if you are in need of easy slow cooker recipes that take almost all day to make.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 teaspoons dried onion flakes
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 beef bouillon cube (I used a natural not beef bouillon cube; you may also use the beef base that is available now)
  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 large onion, cut into rings
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound beef chuck steak
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning
Instructions
  1. In the bowl of a slow cooker, combine the water, dried onion flakes, dried parsley, turmeric, celery salt, salt, sugar, black pepper, bouillon cube, garlic and onion. Turn the slow cooker to HIGH.

  2. Season the beef chuck steak (or a larger chuck roast if you are serving more people) well with your favorite steak seasonings (I used Montreal Steak Seasoning). Pan-sear the steak/roast on both sides and then transfer the meat to the hot slow cooker, distributing some of the onions over the meat.

  3. Put the lid on the cooker, then cook for 1 hour on HIGH heat, then reduce the heat to LOW and cook for 4 to 6 hours, or longer, depending on the side of the cut you are using. About 1 hour before serving, remove the onions and garlic from the cooker, and shred the meat with tongs or a fork, letting it sit in the juice. Cook for 1 hour more.

  4. Serve with the juice and enjoy. I served it on corn tortillas, but for a more traditional sandwich, serve it on a French roll.
