Chocolate Mug Cake

Making homemade chocolate cake recipes from scratch is far easier than you'd think. You only need about 5 minutes to make this no bake Chocolate Mug Cake from Lindsay Nixon, making this one of the easiest chocolate cake recipes to make. Since this eggless chocolate cake recipe is made with healthy ingredients like whole wheat flour, you can feel okay about indulging in this dessert.

Serves: 1

Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons white whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons nondairy milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vegan chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and cinnamon together, set aside. For a really sweet cake, add more sugar.
     
  2. In another small bowl, whisk 1/4 cup applesauce, nondairy milk, and a drop or two of vanilla extract together.
     
  3. Pour wet into dry, then add chocolate chips, stirring to combine. Add another 1 to 2 tablespoons of applesauce, until the batter is wet and resembles regular cake batter.
     
  4. Pour batter into a coffee cup, and microwave for 3 minutes (at 1000 watts).
