Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons red wine
  • 3/4 cup raw almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage, dried
  • Sprinkle of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  2. In a small saucepan, heat the maple syrup and red wine until it has reduced down to a syrup. This should take 5 to 10 minutes.

  3. Once it has thickened, add in the almonds, rosemary and sage. Stir to coat all the nuts.

  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment and carefully pour the almonds and any remaining syrup onto the parchment. Separate the almonds as much as possible. Sprinkle with salt.

  5. Place in oven for about 8 minutes, stirring at least twice so the syrup doesn't burn.

  6. Remove from oven and let cool. Use a spatula to pry the candied almonds off the parchment and serve at your next party or give as a holiday gift.
