There are plenty of cool applications for the iPhone (and some for the Blackberry) to help you get and stay fit, and many are free. Whether you are counting calories or creating unique workouts to avoid exercise boredom, a mobile app can help fit in with your busy lifestyle.

GoodFoodNearYou- Using GPS and nutritional information for restaurants in your area, this neat little app will find somewhere healthy for you to eat nearby. Powered by the GoodFoodNearYou website, the free app is available on iPhones, iPod touch and many Blackberry models. Find the app at the Apple Store.

LoseIt!- This app is helpful for those trying to lose weight through calorie counting. Set your daily goal and track caloric intake by logging foods throughout the day and substract calories based on exercise. Expensive Apps

iPump- Developed by PumpOne, this app is like having your own persona trainer in your pocket. With a database of over 4,000 exercise images and videos, you can drag and drop to create custom workouts just for you. You can also choose from over 400 complete workouts, with video and audio instruction. In addition, you can email fitness experts and get real responses. At $19.99, this app is a bit more steep but sounds like it’s worth it. PumpOne also offers some free exercise videos at the website, so check it out!

iBody- This app helps you to records and tracks health factors such as weight, blood pressure and pulse. This app was recently awarded a Mobie award for best app in the Healthcare and Fitness category. The app is $9.99 at the Apple Store.
