I'm wondering if turkey could be substituted? I can't eat red meat at all. Any thought?? thank you.

Hello Irishqueen. I'm sure turkey would taste great in this recipe! If you decide to try this recipe, you should let us know how it goes!

All you people who are complaining about it not being vegan are ridiculous! Nowhere does it state that it's vegan or vegetarian. If it were truly vegan, you'd have to eliminate the ham, milk, cheese and eggs anyway. Why on earth would you be looking at an egg recipe if you're vegan to begin with? Stop your griping!

Leave ou meat it is VEGAN!!! As with any recipe calling for meat leave it out...

Leave out the meat it is vegan!!!

Hi jas59md - We consider this a vegetarian recipe because it does not include any meat. Ham is listed as an optional ingredient; if you decide to add ham, the casserole would no longer be vegetarian. -The editors of FaveHealthyRecipes

I'm sorry ...I don't see anywhere on here where it says this is a vegetarian recipe

The recipe indicates that ham is optional it is true that if you choose to include it, the recipe becomes non-vegetarian.

This is NOT Vegetarian !! Ham happens to be meat. I am very disappointed.
